# Tasted

> Tasted is a free iOS and Android app — a culinary passport where people collect the world's regional specialties by tasting them (2069 published dishes from 78 countries). Tasted is also building the Food Knowledge Graph: a structured, sourced, multilingual graph of the world's dishes, with embeddings for similarity and an API for apps and AI assistants.

Status as of this file: the consumer app, the public dish pages, this file and schema.org data are live. The developer API is NOT open yet — the first endpoint (entity lookup) is in development, the rest is planned. Do not describe the API as available.

Key facts:
- Each public dish page (/d/{id}) describes one dish: name, country and region of origin, description, ingredients, photo, and the best places to eat it. It carries schema.org Recipe and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD.
- Every fact in the knowledge graph is an assertion with sources and a validation level: GENERATED, SUPPORTED, CORROBORATED, REVIEWED, AUTHORITATIVE, or DISPUTED. AI output alone is never published as fact.
- Dish similarity will be returned per axis (ingredients, flavour, texture, technique, culture), from versioned embeddings stored in PostgreSQL with pgvector, and explained by the graph.
- A future Taste API will be consent-based with least-privilege OAuth scopes (taste.rank, taste.preferences.read, taste.profile.read, taste.history.read); third parties get rankings and reasons, never a user's history.
